Malaysia to target $11.7 billion contribution to GDP from natural gas

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) – Malaysia will launch a plan for its natural gas industry that targets a 52 billion ringgit ($11.7 billion) contribution from the sector to gross domestic product, the economy minister said on Thursday.

Minister Rafizi Ramli said the roadmap would be released this year and was intended to spur investments into the industry. He did not give a timeline for the target.
