Sinomine targets 2026 production at Kitumba copper mine in Zambia

SHANGHAI (Reuters) – Sinomine Resource Group aims to start copper production in September 2026 at its Kitumba Copper Mine in the Mumbwa district of Zambia’s Central Province, according to a company WeChat post on Thursday.

Sinomine, which plans to invest $560 million in the project, said that on Monday it initiated stripping, or removing surface soil and rock, at the project.
