Kantar appoints ex-DMGT boss Paul Zwillenberg as CEO

LONDON (Reuters) -Kantar, the market research group owned by Bain Capital and advertising group WPP, said on Monday it had appointed former Daily Mail and General Trust boss Paul Zwillenberg as its chief executive, replacing Chris Jansen.

Zwillenberg will join Kantar on Sept. 29 and assume day-to-day leadership of the business on Jan. 1, Kantar said in a statement. Jansen, who has led Kantar Group since July 2021, will lead the business to the end of the year.

Zwillenberg reshaped Daily Mail publisher DMGT’s portfolio of businesses, which include consumer media, events and information services, and led the group through its delisting from the London stock market in early 2022.

Sky News reported in March that Kantar’s owners were exploring the sale of its Worldpanel division for 5 billion pounds ($6.5 billion) or more, while the Financial Times separately said Kantar was set to be broken up and sold.
