Rwanda’s economic growth slows in Q2 2025

KIGALI (Reuters) -Rwanda’s economic growth slowed in the second quarter of this year because of weaker performance in industry and services, the statistics office said on Wednesday.

Economic growth stood at 7.8% year-on-year in the second quarter, down from 10.2% in the same period a year ago, the statistics office said in a statement.

It said industrial output expanded 7%, compared to 13% in the same quarter of 2024, while services grew 9%, down from 12%. Agriculture grew by 8% in the second quarter, up from 4% in the same quarter last year.

Rwanda’s economy largely depends on agriculture, tourism and manufacturing.
