PARIS (Reuters) -A French court on Tuesday blocked French supermarket retailer Auchan’s plan to cut 2,400 jobs, citing procedural irregularities.
The Lille Administrative Court said the redundancy plan should have been agreed with the trade union representatives of each of the five components of the group.
It also found procedural irregularities in the consultation of Auchan’s workers’ committees.
Auchan, which employs over 50,000 people in France, said in a statement that it had decided to appeal.
