(Reuters) -Engineering firm Smiths Group reported annual headline operating profit above market estimates on Tuesday, helped by strong demand for its upgraded baggage-screening kits and explosives detectors amid rising global security needs.
The British company forecast an organic revenue growth from continuing operations of 4%-6% for the year ending July 2026. It reported a growth of 7.2% for fiscal 2025.
“Our order book and momentum in the business support our confidence in our positive outlook for FY2026, and we expect continuing margin expansion towards medium-term targets,” CEO Roland Carter said in a statement.
Smiths Group also said that the separation processes for its Interconnect and Detection divisions were progressing and the company expects an announcement on Interconnect by the end of 2025.
The company reported headline operating profit of 580 million pounds ($783.17 million) for the year ended July 31, above analysts’ estimates of 573 million pounds, according to a company poll.
