ZURICH (Reuters) -UBS on Friday announced changes to its board of directors and its executive board, naming Beatriz Martin as Chief Operating Officer and saying Lukas Gaehwiler, vice chairman of UBS’ board of directors, will step down next year.
UBS veteran Markus Ronner, the bank’s compliance chief, has been nominated to succeed Gaehwiler, who had a long career at Credit Suisse before joining UBS in 2010.
Michelle Bereaux, UBS’ Chief Integration Officer, will become head of compliance and operational risk control.
The bank said that governmental and regulatory affairs and group security functions, currently part of compliance, regulatory and governance, will be transferred to CFO Todd Tuckner and HR chief Stefan Seiler, respectively.
Martin, a Spaniard who heads non-core and legacy at UBS, will remain president of EMEA and UK chief executive.
Gaehwiler will not stand for re-election to the board of directors at the annual general meeting in April 2026.
