Guyanese politician wanted by U.S. arrested-local media

GEORGETOWN (Reuters) -Azruddin Mohamed, a Guyanese businessman and leader of the country’s top opposition party, who is wanted by the United States on charges of fraud and corruption, was arrested on Friday, videos posted by local media showed.

The country’s attorney general had previously said Mohamed and his father Nazar Mohamed would be extradited to the United States to face the charges, once U.S. authorities made the request.
