BEIJING/FRANKFURT (Reuters) -Germany’s Aumovio is among automotive suppliers that have reached out to Beijing to seek exemptions from export constraints for chips made by Nexperia, a person familiar with the matter said.
Aumovio, which was spun off from Continental AG last month, has applied for such an exemption with the Chinese commerce ministry, the source said.
On Saturday, China’s commerce ministry said it would consider exemptions for chip exports affected by the Dutch government’s seizure of Nexperia.
A spokesperson for Aumovio declined to comment.
