India’s Britannia second-quarter profit rises

(Reuters) -Indian biscuit maker Britannia Industries reported a 23.1% rise in second-quarter profit on Wednesday, benefiting from higher year-over-year prices and steady volumes.

The company, which sells Marie Gold and Bourbon biscuits, reported a consolidated net profit of 6.54 billion rupees ($74.41 million) for the three months ended September 30, compared to 5.31 billion rupees a year ago.
