JAKARTA (Reuters) – Indonesia will offer 21 energy projects worth $40 billion this year, its energy minister said in a statement released on Tuesday, including an oil storage site and an oil refinery, as well as projects utilising coal to produce dimethyl ether.
The coal projects, intended to slash the country’s liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports, will have funding from the new sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia, minister Bahlil Lahadalia said.
The projects will be proposed in several areas in Sumatra and Kalimantan.
