South African business confidence index slips in March

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) – South African business confidence slipped in March, data showed on Wednesday.

The South African Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Business Confidence Index was at 123.5 in March, down from 125.8 in February but higher than January’s 120.0 level.

The chamber releases the index every two months. It noted that despite the latest fall, the index was 8.8 points higher in March than one year earlier.
