NEW DELHI (Reuters) – More than 20 people were feared dead after suspected militants opened fire on tourists in India’s Jammu and Kashmir territory on Tuesday, TV channels reported, in the worst attack in the troubled Himalayan region in years.
The attack took place in the popular destination of Pahalgam. Kashmir has drawn thousands of summer visitors as militant violence has eased in recent years.
