TOKYO (Reuters) -Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda is expected to meet business leaders in Osaka, western Japan, and hold a news conference on Oct. 3, the central bank said on Friday.
The BOJ governor usually visits Osaka once a year and delivers a speech to business leaders, which offers the bank’s assessment on the economy and prices as well as guidance on monetary policy.
The visit would come ahead of the BOJ’s policy meeting on Oct. 29-30.
Nearly two-thirds of economists polled by Reuters expect the central bank to raise interest rates again this year with some betting on a hike in October.
