Reliance Infra says financial crime agency’s search linked to toll road deal, not forex

(Reuters) -Reliance Infrastructure said searches conducted by an Indian financial crime-fighting agency at some of its premises were linked to a 2010 contract for toll road construction in the state of Rajasthan and did not involve a foreign exchange angle.

Earlier in the day, Reuters reported about the agency’s searches at six premises over alleged violations of foreign exchange laws.

The company said that it had no connection or relationship with the contractor and that the toll road had been with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the last four years.
