Germany set to approve $3.5 billion defence package with Airbus and others, Bloomberg News reports

(Reuters) -Germany is set to approve defence equipment purchases worth more than $3.47 billion, including 20 light combat helicopters from Airbus SE, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday, citing a government document.

The report said lawmakers were expected to approve a major defence spending package during a closed-door meeting on Wednesday, which also includes a roughly 1 billion euro deal with Hensoldt AG and Theon International for 100,000 night vision devices.

A spokesperson for the German defence ministry declined to comment on the report.
