LONDON/FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Private equity firm Ambienta is considering a potential sale of Italian trust services provider Namirial next year, three sources close to the matter told Reuters.
The Italian investment firm has held initial talks with potential advisers in recent months but has yet to appoint one, the sources said.
Ambienta and Namirial declined to comment.
As the digital transition gains traction in companies and governments and new cybersecurity challenges arise, the sector is attracting growing interest.
Italy’s Namirial could be worth up to 1 billion euros, according to two of the people.
Namirial, which provides services such e-signatures, digital certificates and identity verification, generated revenue of 140 million euros in 2023, according to the company’s website.
Ambienta, which is focused on economic and environmental sustainability, bought a 70% stake in Namirial in 2020.
Namirial since has roughly tripled its revenue helped by numerous acquisitions.
